It's about the effort

Imagine if you will that you're going to take part in a Civil War reenactment.

You've joined a regiment. You've learned how to march. Some of your colleagues, those with money, have simply gone out and purchased their uniforms or had them tailored. Those with tighter budgets have scraped together what they can, bought patterns and sewed them themselves. By hook or by crook they're all decked out.

Except you. You arrive in a t-shirt, bermuda shorts, and a pair of sandals.

Now how do you think everyone else is going to feel?

Got the picture?

It's about the effort, not the expense. If you, like many of us, don't have the cash to shell out for a full latex ensemble, go cheap! It's amazing what you can do with a roll of electrical tape or a little bubble wrap...
